U.S. Senator Jerry Moran Watches First Run of NAPCO'S Large Diameter Certa-Lok^® CLIC™ Well Casing

U.S. SENATOR JERRY MORAN TOURS NAPCO FACILITY IN MCPHERSON, KANSAS

On Monday, December 23, 2019, United States Senator Jerry Moran visited NAPCO’s McPherson, Kansas PVC pipe facility.  The purpose of the visit was to show Senator Moran the pipe facility as well as inform him about the size and scale of Westlake’s operations and employment in Kansas.  In addition to the McPherson plant, Westlake has an additional facility in Lenexa, Kansas through its latest acquisition, DaVinci Roofscapes.  Between both facilities, approximately 250 employees and core contractors are employed in Kansas.

During Senator Moran’s tour, he witnessed the inaugural run of NAPCO’s large diameter Certa-Lok® CLIC™ product.  This is the newest evolution in PVC Water Well products from NAPCO.  It has an all-in-one design that allows the pipe to come together in a snap.  This increases efficiency in installing the pipe, allowing for 40% faster assembly over traditional Certa-Lok Well Casing.

Today, approximately 130 employees and core contractors work at the McPherson facility, which started in 1962 as Consolidated Plastics and later became part of CertainTeed.  Westlake acquired CertainTeed’s PVC Pipe, Fittings & Foundations businesses in 2013 which are now known as NAPCO.  While the McPherson plant has produced PVC product for six decades, it continues to embrace new technology to gain a competitive advantage in this new decade.

In addition to the Senator, several local representatives also attended the tour.  They included McPherson Mayor Tom Brown, McPherson County Commission Chair Keith Becker, McPherson Chamber of Commerce Chair Alex Graber, McPherson Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Debbie Hawkinson, McPherson Industrial Development Corporation Chair Keith Birkhead, McPherson Industrial Development Corporation Executive Director Kasi Morales and McPherson Board of Public Utilities Assistant General Manager Josh Bedel.
