Are PFAS Chemicals Found in PVC Pipe?
PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) are synthetic chemicals that have raised public health and environmental concerns. However, based on current evidence and industry data, PFAS are not present in PVC water and sewer pipe. According to the PVC Pipe Association (Uni-Bell), PFAS substances are not used in the manufacturing of PVC pipe and PVC pipe is not considered a source of PFAS contamination in drinking water or wastewater systems.
